South Shore MA Communities Served
The area extending
south from Quincy MA to the Cape Cod Canal is known as the "South Shore" of Massachusetts or Boston's "South Shore". However, this area is not limited exclusively to the coastal communities of Hingham, Cohasset, Scituate, Marshfield, Duxbury, Kingston, Plymouth and Bourne-Sagamore Beach. In fact, the entire South Shore region embraces 30 communities, more or less, the majority of which are located in Plymouth County.
As a region, the South Shore has many riches - the ocean and beaches, an abundance of freshwater ponds and lakes, natural scenic beauty, recreation (boating, fishing, golfing, etc.), good schools, shopping, and history to boot! As well, the availability of public transportation options, i.e., the MBTA commuter rail, the MBTA commuter boat (from Hingham to Rowes Wharf in Boston), the Plymouth & Brockton Street Railway Co. (P & B Bus line), all contribute to the South Shore's continuing appeal to home buyers.
